Having a plan for success: 2012

“Look to the future, because that’s where you’ll spend the rest of your life.” – George Burns

Why in the world would we be thinking about 2012? If you are going to commit to a better year next year, why not really commit to achieving those goals. Don’t just set goal(s) in a spur of the moment and hope for the best.

“Most people don’t plan to fail: they fail to plan.” John L. Beckley

How do we do it?

1.         Review our Current Goals. To review the goals we have to set for our self for this year. This exercise helps us to find where we hit the mark and where we were unrealistically over ambitious.

“Whatever you want, wants you even more than you want it.” – Mark Victor Hanson

2.         Create of review our vision and mission. While we have had a mission statements in the past, our vision and mission statements get better every year.

Upcoming Technology Revolution in 2012..

It’s that time of the year again, and we’re not talking about Christmas here. It is that time where the beginning of the new year means a whole new slew of gadgets to look forward to. Now, as far as 2011 is concerned, many were thrilled upon the news of the iPad 2 and many were also disappointed with the iPhone 4S not being the iPhone 5. For the other end of the spectrum, we got a slew of Android devices like the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note, as well as the release of Ice Cream Sandwich to end the year. 2011 also saw the tie-up of Microsoft and Nokia to hopefully bring in new gadgets, as well as bring Nokia some hard-needed revenue. With all of these said, what could we expect in 2012, the year when the world’s supposed to end?

iPhone 5
Despite the iPhone 4S being a great device overall, the lack of physical changes, as well as the simple addition of “S” to the predecessor’s moniker made people skip this release. It is in this vein that many are really anticipating and eagerly waiting for an “actual” new iPhone. Speculations like the aluminum backing and a bigger 4 inch screen is making many excited. Will Apple actually make this wishful thinking a reality?

iPad 3
The iPad was a sure game-changer when it came out a couple of years ago. Then it just got a lot better when the iPad 2 got released during the first half of 2011. So how will they improve on this tried and tested device/concept with its third iteration? Add to that the fact that we lost Steve Jobs late in 2011, will there be chances that the iPad will go on a different route under a different direction? Well, everyone’s hoping for a quad-core processor to power this thing, making it the next best mobile gaming device. Again, another wishful thinking for the Apple fans?

C Language

First step in learning a language is to print a Hello World program, which we had also done ..

to print that you need to include a library

after that you have to state the main function

and inside that you'll write a print f command to say hello world......

#include
int main()
{
printf("Hello World");
return 0;
}

that is the code for the Hello World program ,
write the program and compile it with a good compiler or IDE,
here's a good C compiler

Chrome OS - Google and Intel Colobration.

Recent messages on the Internet said that Intel partner with Google on the development of the recently announced Chrome OS, an open-source operating system is to make the computer salesman with a choice for its future netbooks. Although Intel was not among the partner companies recently confirmed by Google, chip maker claimed that it has worked with Mountain View, California-based search giant on its upcoming operating system. Moreover, it seems that cooperation between the two leaders in their respective fields including Google's android operating system for Intel's upcoming MID platform.

In a recent news article on TG Daily, Intel said would have confirmed the partnership with Google, stating that they find the Giant's move. "We know the project for some time and we have worked with Google on a number of projects, including here. We are pleased with Google's move here," an Intel rep told TG Daily. Cooperation between the two can play a response from Microsoft, which actively cooperates with Intel during the entire existence. This can only fuel earlier rumors that the software giant is preparing a system that could support the ARM micro-architecture.

17 iPhone Application I Should Install ?

So when someone came up to you and asked, so what’s so great about the iPhone. You’ll probably show them how cool the cover flow is, or maybe how you can multi-touch zoom in and out of the photos; flipped them, etc. I’ve got to be honest, those are part of the attractions why I got myself an iPhone even when its not officially launch here in my country but however I’ve found cooler stuff in iPhone – the ability to support tones of cool applications and most importantly, rich 3rd party application developers.
Here are some iPhone applications you should install, or at least try using them.

  1. Community Resources

Developed by Nullriver, Inc this is your gateway to more 3rd party applications upon installed.

  2. iApp-a-Day

iApp-a-Day is a project initiated for November 2007, aiming at contributing one application a day to the community. Worth checking out.

Filing... Symbian Game.. Java Based

Fling is a Java based puzzle game which works with Symbian S60 5th edition based mobiles such as Nokia N97, N97 Mini, X6, 5230, 5233, 5800 XpressMusic and 5530 XpressMusic. Each puzzle consists of a set of furballs placed on the board. To solve a puzzle, you need to remove all furballs (but one) from the board.

You do this by "flinging" furballs along a line into other furballs, causing the hit furball to roll off the board. You can not fling a furball into a neighbouring furball. You also can not fling a furball directly off the board. Now it's time for you to try it for yourself!

There are three game modes-

Notebook V/S Netbook

We have all heard of a Netbook as well as Notebook. Before we get into the difference between them both, let us see what exactly is a Netbook and a Notebook.

Notebook: Notebook is a term used for portable computer, sometimes interchangeably in place of a laptop. However it is thinner and lighter and has a better battery life than a laptop.
Netbook: Netbook is a small version of a Notebook, which is used mainly for travelling purposes.
Besides this one liner definition for each of them, we will understand them better once we see the difference in their functionality and architecture. So, what really makes them different?
Here are a few points listed that would clear how a Netbook is different from a Notebook.
1. The screen size for Netbook is between 7 and 10 inches and the screen size for Notebook is between 10 and 17 inches. So the Notebook is bigger in size, while the portability of Netbook is better since it is lighter in weight.

Reading Strategies

1. Preview

Preview the text to be read by skimming it. Skimming is the technique of allowing your eyes to travel rapidly over a page, stopping here and there to register the main idea. When skimming, you should follow the procedure below, adapting it to your purpose
  • Read the title.
  • Note the writer's name.
  • Note the date and place of publication.
  • Read the first paragraph completely.
  • Read sub-headings and first sentences of remaining paragraphs.
As you read, pick up main ideas, key words (words that tell you who, what, when, where, how many, and how much), and transition markers (words like 'however', 'alternatively', 'additionally', and so on), which suggest the direction of ideas in the text.

2. Question

Effective reading is active reading. To turn reading from a passive into an active exercise, always ask questions.
To do this, you must be clear about the purpose of your reading. If you are reading a text which you will be critiquing in detail, your questions will be different from those you would ask if you were reading a number of texts for background information. If you are gathering material for an essay, formulate some tentative ideas about the approaches you might take, modifying them as you accumulate material.
During the preview, note as many questions as you can about the content. For instance, turn headings into questions and try to anticipate possible answers the writer may offer. Always actively look for connections and relationships. Look at the ways ideas are structured and developed.
The object of the preview and questioning steps is to determine the writer's thesis, that is, her/his main idea and purpose in writing.
As you read, list all the words about which you are uncertain; look them up in the dictionary and write down their definitions.

Energy Saving Headlights... Awesome

Energy saving car head lights

۩ Energy saving car head lights
Are you intended to save the energy of your car headlight, then wait for a little time? The big car company BMM is going to introduce laser headlights very soon. The company claims that these headlights will save energy in comparison to the normal headlights. To overcome the bad affects of the laser, which may be harmful for the passenger coming from the opposite sides, the lights produced by laser will be softened. The company is trying to pass the white light through fluorescent phosphor material in the headlight. The light which will come out from headlight will be bright and cool, giving no hazardous effect to the eyes of animals and human being coming in the range of this laser light. It will produce a huge intensity than LEO lights and safe a lot of energy.

D. Lemma, P. Klang

When you give a minute
When you stop and think
It ain't too hard to find
The connecting link
People want the same things
We dream of a happy end
We're just caught in the same commotion
And time slips away

C Language Learning

It is impossible to communicate without a language, and the point to consider is the similarity of language between two bodies.
Considering this point many computer languages were made and taught to both, computer and users. Forton, Pascal, Cobol, Algol, and many others were invented but it was the C language by Dennis Ritchie Which made its way towards the new style of programming.
Concept from other languages, this language deals with numerous functions, types like Arrays, Pointers, Functions, Recursion, Data Structure, Variables, Basic Airthmatic, and much more..
You would not see the other languages using today, but it is C language which is still used as a comparative low level language :)

Rain.. !!

Rain..
Each drop of the rain carry's a message but we are those who can't get those, we cannot understand, sometimes we think of them but don't understand them..
we often become sad, we often think of memories..
We never thought that why the rains comes from the sky? isn't there any other way??
Why we have never thought of that?
Rain pleases us but can it be supportive?
Can it give us confidence?
Does it gives courage to face challenges?
Its the will that do all
from summer to fall
Rain. !!

Are We Living in a Women Dominant Society?

Society has always objected towards the man's approach in which biased words were used like chairman, sportsman, freshman and much more which was now being replaced by the more neutral ones which says chairperson, sports person and so on but nowadays the people should keep in view that instead of men, this social environment is being converted into Women Supremacy, through targeting men they are approaching towards a Ladies era.

Today the women are ruling the world through their privileges. Whenever she shouts for a cause, immediately positively responded nevertheless the purpose does not favor her. For instance in Pakistan whenever a woman claims or shouts everybody stands in the favor of her whatever the matter is, not concerning who is right just they support the females. Whenever they do anything wrong, opponents are always being scolded. Consequently they always have the upper hand in the different situations.

There is an old Russian Saying,

World Scout Jamboree - Big Picture

So many creative writings, fantastic thoughts, memorable comments about the jamboree, but still the big picture left where we reflect, express about the jamboree what we like, what wasn't good

After so many meetings in the Kharadar J.k, Sindh Boy Scouts Headquarter and briefing by many experts, 32 people based Sindh contingent was ready to participate in the 22nd World Scout Jambroee which would held in the Rinkby, Kristianstad Sweden.

The last meeting was held in the Sindh Boy Scouts Headquarter new Auditorium, on the day of Departure of the contingent, My some friends and I were on the next day.

On the departure we reached the Airport at 2:30 AM where we found some other scouts like us waiting for the World scout Jamboree,
at Jinnah International Airport, Pakistan Christian Scouts, Ismaili District Boy Scouts, Sindh Boy Scouts all were there for the jamboree, we were going through the gulf Air Via Bahrain while others will reach there directly via Lahore
We all gathered and go into the lobby where our documents were checked. Our Baggage was passed and we gone for consecutive 3 Full Proof Security checks with such a great support by the natives, we reached in the waiting lounge where we have to wait for the Airbus to the Manama, Bahrain.
in the Bahrain there was a transit stay for 18 hours for which the Gulf Air has accompanied us a 4-Star Hotel Al-Safir
after the long long stay, now it was time to Again do the journey. Now it was the Boeing who was flying to Kobenhavn/Copenhagen Denmark. Our Contingent friends were in Denmark now to recieve us. We reached the Copenhagen Airport but was unable to see anyone of them. now with our leader or some without managed to go for sweden with the transport of the World Scout Jamboree Members. We stood in the long line, and when we were near to our turn, the registrar told that its only for IST member participants have to wait..
now what to do was the most toughest question
helpless in a new world, don't know the streets don't know the people don't know anybody....

but someone was there to know us, help us support us... Scout Brothers, Scout Movement..
World Scout Jamboree Team led us to the Home Hospitality where we've to live until the participants registration is on...
there we managed to contact our rest of the contingent, who came to us and we spend the night with them

Now it was the jamboree for which the 40,060 Scouts from 139 Countries came to one place under one theme "Simply Scouting"

Four Towns

Dream

2300 Hours, searching for light in the dark forest, journey from old age to the birth of a child, a experience that remembered us our History to Destination in just 2 hours which was quite unusal but was too interesting...

At the end of summer town, some IST's with some Glowing Sticks waving, a series of gas Lights beside them were desperately waiting for some participants to come to them, there was a long run way which we have to cross for the next instruction from there we would go to our first destination, which was the old age.

a Room almost 10 Feet Wide and about 25-30 Meter long, full of smoke, lightening, as we feel the grave yard, the sad and the horror music on the tape, it was just to make us feel the death scene, the moment was so horrifying, excited, even at that time we were unable to think that what is happening or what will happen after some time? whats the next destination, we were out of our mind just going in a direction, nothing could be seen easily nor it was easy to breathe, nothing much was visible, like all the things faded away.. such a unspoken wonderful experience.. continuing Death Scene it was the adulthood, in which we have to feel as the experienced people do - I would call them experience because they are not so old enough, they just got the experience in whole such life - the sensing in their way, the sight with the blurred glasses, the sound of some animals with a non clearly audible tape recorder and much more..
In addition to that it was now the Youth Age in which we were shown world some great personalities including their life history, as some of them were Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and many more... :) their photos was stuck on the wooden board and we have to identify them and read about them with photos of them, we are meant to inspire, from their work, their speciality and to be one of like them to do something in life
Now we would near age of 24 or 25 where usually a person makes his family his life, as we were told to make a person draw him that we thinks as an ideal...
this was a boring one but the next one in the teenage, and childhood was to play with toys bigger to smaller, trickiest to funniest, challenging to tricky all the things made us remember our early life where we used to play with friends, have fun tease each other throw things on each other just not that enough, we fights cry help innovate, support love care each other.
with the phase our journey soon to end... but it was just a beginning to the new sight for the world

Camp in Camp

Leave Nothing But Thanks -
Camp Law -
Sir Robert Stephenson Smith Baden Powell of Gilwill

Camp in Camp, a newly introduced event which means you have to do a camp while you are in camping, it sounds really interesting when you say camp, but it is much more difficult to do that, explain that, show that, perform that.
We were told that we have to go for camp in camp, preparations all around, curiosity, excitement, yelling all around, we just wanted to experience what is it, how it is done..
We were told to sit on the bus, the 2 hour drive led us to a new campside, where the germans were there.. they were host for us, they gave a big tent in which Austrians, Itallian, French, Dutch, Japenese, UK People, and we, Pakistani were there... it was a huge black tent.
As we went there, we were asked to made up the dinner, it was a hole digged and some burnt wood were there.. we were so confused that what will happen and what we will do... Hosts gave us a Pan for the cooking and showed us the way for the wood. We gathered some wood, and with the help of German Kid's Ligher, Light up the Stove..
Now it was hurdle for the cooking oil which was missing in our kit :P we went to the hosts and again they helped us in finding that... we made some KABAB's and had our lunch..
after we gone for the activity in which there was monkey band, Friendship band, lizard and much more... i selected the friendship band because I already know how to make some .. but it was a new and tough one with new designing in it.. :|
After the band I go for the Badminton, it was so fun to play with the Norway people, one of them was a really good player..
continuing the day we gone for the volley ball and after that done the camp fire..
The german songs, the Itallian Dance, and ofcourse the Pakistani Aalo Yaante Rocked the camp fire there and the new and awesome was their yell..
"Uri Uri Uri" ... "yea Yea Yea"... Was the best part of that night..
It was so cold and the bugs doesn't wanted us to sleep in the tent.. so we all decided to sing the songs whole night through the fire.. a leader and a participant of UK, Hosts and the Pakistani Sung their songs through out the mid night.. indeed it was the germans who said the good night to all of us in a gentle manner through the beats and strings of guitar, it was the soft and a gentle good night that led us to the sweet dreams

In the morning suddenly some people came in our camp and starting singing, what the mess it was, we all stood up and saw, it were again the germans who wanted to say us good morning in a new way that we had'nt seen... we didn't understand the whole song but the thing that we know is the GOOD MORNING word that they told us ;)
Finally It was time to cook food for the break fast and after that lunch, patrol with lots of hurdle could make up the food in with such limited resources
So hard camp, the hardest time we had but the thing that we learnt is to live in the hardest conditions

SCOUTING ROCKS... !!!

Quest - Simply Scouting

Mindblowing, Awesome, Energetic, Lovely, Struggling, Creative, Dynamic such a great activity planned by the jamboree Team.

We used to see in the POGO Tv Channel the games there to run, jump off the wood, slip in the water, go through the muds, ring the drum, but now it was the time for us to do that so.. It was really a great fun to go for the game that we used to see and laugh, needed concentration, energy, hope, curiosity, and the Team Sprit.. we ran off towards the hurdles which was wood piles about of 4 ft high, we jumped off that so we seen some web like thing to climb on it, as we jumped from that wood height it was the plansic tent by which we've to crawl and pass it on, this wasn't enough so they made a slide of wood, mud and water.. :P in which we splash.. !!! WoowWW.. What an activity it was...

following it we entered into the Maze, alotted a particular time, we've to find the 3 codes there...
the whole team run around, visiting the site, roaming the whole arena, forgot and lost, found something but lost the way, code on the keys.. sprit in the scouts, passion on head, its simply maze.. in which we are being watch by IST team from the tower. :P and guided by them.. finally after 3 activities we got the code to unlock the keys.. :)

it was such a great experience that i can't forget.. it was simply amazing..
ended by the closing ceremony was the dance on "magarita" and Tonight gonna be a good night it was so amazing that in the whole life we canot forget this.. :)

Opening Ceremony..

- Audre Lorde
It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.

World Scout Jamboree, a great platform to express cultures, meet people, share love, help others, learn from different people, share the experiences, and thats all are not enough to express such a event, in fact its much more than these words which cant express it.

On 28th July 2011, the Jamboree Staff held the Opening ceremony at 2100 hrs sharp. Spot Lights, Flash lights, Parking Lights, Colors all around, People Every where, Shock Waves from the Speakers, Camera's all around and The Most Important.. the Participants of the WSJ 2011..

Started off with the Cheif Scout of the UK, the Man who hosted the Man V/S the Animal at the Discovery Channel.. He handed the Flag to the Swedish Scout. the whole crowd was so excited, curious, enjoying such a great moment..

The Swedish People shared their history since they are awared off, beside this i got to know that first FREEDOM OF PRESS was introduced in the sweden.. :)

The great performances with the Fires made the environment more curious, excited and interesting. The 6 People, playing with the fires, even don't think of their lives and the losses they could have, just to entertain people. Thats what we call it marvelous, superb, no words to express furher

After this, some musical performances rocked the people and make them to Stand and Dance.. It Was so convincing that even the people sitting on the chair stood up to Dance with the Other People,

Adding Sauce to the food were the singers and the band, who rocked the whole crown on their beats, jamboree's official song, changing the world... the people simply started Dancing stood up like concert.. lightening all around, flashes all around, open sky, 178 different cultures, 40000 People, at the one places is so great to here, but to see is the different experience and thats what I'll remember always in my life.. :)

P.S.: Photos would be uploaded when i get time to transfer :P

Journey to FAST - NU

Founded By BCCI, Fast is the top most university in Pakistan for IT, FAST (Foundation for Advancement in Science and Technology) - NUCES (National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences) Located on National Highway(Karachi Campus), Near Bhains Colony, Shah Faisal Town. It has a long way from The City. and about 1.5 Hour Drive from My Home..

There My Friends and I have aptitude for BS (Computer Science), for which we all were preparing since our Intermediate Examination was over and it was the day for which we were waiting for. Reporting time for the BS Aptitude was at 2:30, so we decided to meet at 1:00 PM sharp at Danish's home, we 4, gathered in the colony and was looking for the bus or the rickshaw. As the CNG Stations were closed for 3 days, so it was unavailable and due to city conditions, public transporters were also not running their vehicle. 3 days of shortage was too bad for the people of karachi.

From Karimabad, we taken 4-L Bus and gone to Liaqatabad 10 No. there we were waiting for D-1 through which we could reach FAST. we stand there for 10 minutes, but could not find any bus. Last option was the rickshaw, which agreed on Rs. 300.

The man was running his rickshaw on the patrol as all the CNG pumps were closed.. !!, He took us from dalmia and through mellanium mall we were on the national highway by passing quaidabad flyover and airport (star gate). We thanked god for reaching safely just 2 minutes before :P

Socialization

Surprises, Adventure, Excitement, Curiosity had been the core part of the Scouting, but Socializing is the another one which I think is the most important. Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, Hi5 and much more
The mission of Scouting is to built a better world, and for that we need to contact people.. make our friends, help each other .. in the life there comes a time when you meet suddenly a old school friend and he helps you in some sort of work or you helps him, so everyday many people goes around you, do we even know 5% of them?

Scouting is the major key in grooming the human personality, I don't know that this socializing will help further in scouting, but the thing I know is that it will work in my professional life. :)

My experience about the Socializing is just after my teacher shared with me its importance.. Yesterday it was my aptitude in FAST-NUCES which is located on the Bhains Colony, National Highway and upto there only 1 Public Bus goes and i.e. D-1 unfortunately, That bus wasn't on the road due to the demonstrations of the transport contractors. Our friend, which we made just 2 hours ago, just before the aptitude helped us. gave us lift to Shahrah-e-Faisal Then after that we made our way.. !!

Examination..

Smooth road never make good drivers, same as like that hurdles, difficulties in live are for the betterment of the one who achieving it. As like the other hurdles, Examination is one of them, towards which students seeks as one of the difficult hurdle but in fact it is the way to get rid of many difficulties in life.

It is the key to have professional success. Many of the writers explained the importance of it, but like me everyone don't care of it. !! Just Leave it on its own way. !! :) don't do any preparation and final day says that God please help me.. !! what god can do if you haven't done something by your self? "God Help Those Who Help Themselves"

My experience throughout examination is great. !! I Love doing them.. !! Specially the movement when we enter in the examination hall finds our seats and relaxing because the supervisors always called us 40 minutes before the paper. :S whistling in our ears, that irritated us.. !! so we always go inside leaving all the revisions and books aside in the Van or The Personal Belonging Area.

The Funniest Part of the Examination was in the SSC Part I and II Examination when the supervisor in HIS GREAT STYLE used to Say, "UNTIL AND UNLESS YOU ARE ASKED TO DO SO" we always makes fun of him, and gossiping about him. !! :)

The Best Part in The SSC Part I Examination was the way back to the home.. !! Dancing in the Van.. , Smacking all other guys in the Van.. :D Specially when the underpass comes and the environment gets dark. :D We called it IJTEMAI KUTAAI.. :D, sometimes we started yelling at the time when the GIRL's Van Chases us or we do so.. !!

In the meanwhile i was writing this post, i was copying all the written matter to a friend.. !! and due to her comment i decided to end this post abruptly :P *bas kar* paka raha hai*

Science Society

Working from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Miss all the classes, Organize E-Gaming, design the creative things for the society, manage the event, do LIVE editing that would be incomplete about the science society. As our motto, A Vision to inventions, we were able to create, share some unspoken and unseen things as like our experience, relations, confidence, blah blah
Exposure to people was the first and most important thing that society had gifted us. Starting with the E-gaming we learnt Dealing with Public in Organizing, Managing the event, from the process registration of Players to the finale of the tournament, it was the science society who was always on the front line to make this event successful. My position in the E-gaming was the server management.
Now it was the time for Science Olympiad, the Mega Event. As a Media Manager, I could not define my position that how challenging it was for me to do all the media work alone. but it was the whole society on the back of me, which helped and supported me for the making of the Creative Designs. Not only president and vice president, in fact the whole society including the coordinators took interest in the Making of the Backdrop, Shields, Certificates.
Working was going on, and this time it was the best response in the history of AKHSS that we got from students almost more than 300 Projects was there, a remarkable achievement for AKHSS.
With the learning of designing, I learned to explain my designs to people, do some professional work.
These Memorable things in the Science Society, even in the whole AKHSS would be so remembered by me. :)

Pinnacle - Society Review

Journey Started off with Photographer, my passion and is still continuing with Media Management. Pinnacle gave me a platform to enhance my abilities, enhance the shining skills, and the most important it gave me a new experience to workout for a printing publication. Besides all this formality, I got a circle of new friends, creative coworkers, fresh things to laugh for, this was the small new family that i got after the science society and I hope that this Pinnacle-Friends would be the upcoming writers-journalist-Photographers-Graphic Designer-Artists
