Cultural Day WSJ

Karen Armstrong Quotes
Each of the world religions has its own particular genius, its own special insight into the nature and requirements of compassion, and has something unique to teach us.

World Scout Jamboree - 40600 Participants, nah.. now its 48000 People.... !!!
hosts of the camp in camp are here, visiting the campsite, watching how we live daily, whats our culture, how we spend our day.

In the morning, we all dressed up in the Sindhi Cultural Dress, which is Shalwar Qameez with Sindhi Ajrak and Sindhi Topi - Ajrak is a piece of cloth as like dupatta which is wore by men and women by different styles...
Thats me in the shalwar qameez with sindhi topi at our town center - autumn

My friends and I, dressed up too early as compared to the other camps so we decided to go for the Internet cafe for the surfing, but as it was before 1000 hrs, so it was closed, we all lined up for the planetarium, some of the friends and I had seen this adventure before, but it was a new thing for many of us. the area was dome shaped with a Projector inside, which projected its show on the dome shaped roof..
First we all resisted to lay on the surface as our dress colour was white :P but later on as the show started, we laid down.. watching the domed roof, planets other then Earth, the stars, the shapes, zodiac signs, planets, stars, all that... beside that the guider shown us a movie clip on the jupiter.

After that as our plan, we moved towards the Internet Cafe just for charging our mobiles and cameras :P beside that we hardly use internet :P

All the people were setting up their display, for the cultural food, cultural items, cultural dresses and blah blah...

My friend and I gone for having cultural exchange, we tasted the Swiss Chocolates, they taste so Yummy, beside that we gone for the UK camp, where we tasted lemonade, Saudi and People of Kuwait had some Dates to taste, another UK camp just 4 tents behind us were making a hand band through threads, I requested for One and they made it for me.. - Thank You.. It was really awesome.

All the people were showing their own specialty, Japanese People were gifting chopsticks, similarly Chinese people were offering tea, I don't remember the names but I think it was Rose, Green Tea and another one. well the person on the stall gifted me small bowl with the tea.. just loved that bowl.. <3

With that bowl, we went for the Massage, it was offered by the Dutch people, like it was so relaxing on the matte sheet with someone relaxing your muscles, by taking sun bath.

The language of love was all around there, the diversity was at its peak, everyone sharing their foods, things, items. We, Pakistani made them taste the meat balls ("Kofta" in Urdu Language) beside this, many of the people shown up their stalls for the Swapping of badges, t-shirts, knifes, toggles, woggles, pins, and much much more.

It was a great place to share culture, to promote peace, to come nearer with a language barrier.

well it all ended with a ceremony in the town centre autumn, where everyone presented their cultural dances, and performances, some presented their in the 4 square seasons while some were doing near the opening ceremony or where ever they wanted.

After these town centre activities we were all asked to go for the Carnival Night, along the way, we all were yelling PAKISTAN ZINDABAD, DIL DIL PAKISTAN, JEEVAY JEEVAY PAKISTAN, PAKISTAN KA MATLAB KIA and all that, the germans, dutch, italian people beside us were also yelling with us to support Pakistan, it seemed that we were around 20 and sound was of almost 70 - 80 people :P continuing their supported our leader Nizar sir decided to support them also, so as instructed we started a german yell that was "URI URI URI" "HOYE HOYE HOYE". We raised Pakistan flag along the way we were going, we saw a Saudi Arabian tent, which also told us to yell the pakistan ka matlab kia... well.. through alot of yelling, fun, love, support we were in the arena of opening ceremony where the carnival night was going to start.

well every culture has its own predefined values, traditions, history.. no one is bad in this world, its just the perception which leads us towards the bad thought about different nations. Through the media, our image wasn't good, but they even didn't said a single word which can discriminate us from them, even the people other then scouts was that so...
Thats the biggest lesson we got, the biggest language we learnt, the biggest event I remembered the World Scout Jamboree 2011 - Sweden xD
